Case BriefThis was the first Rocky film that would have a website, and MGM needed a destination that respected the legacy of what is arguably film’s greatest underdog story. WHi’s site came out punching, not only promoting Rocky Balboa but also encompassing every Rocky installment. Like a great prizefight, this site had it all, and was less a website than an encyclopedic celebration of the films. Users had all the information for Rocky Balboa at their fingertips, from the trailer to video clips, photos, downloads, production notes and even a Rocky Blog, all backed by some of Bill Conti’s unforgettable score. They could also go back in time, checking out original trailers and other production materials for the original Rocky all the way through Rocky V. The site had an amazing number of audio and video features: Best Training Moments, Best Pep Talks, Best Knockouts, Fan’s Favorite Moments, a Soundboard with over 50 great lines from the films, songs from the movies on Rocky Radio, Trivia, Polls and more. Users could also visit the DVD site to purchase one film or the Rocky Anthology. This site was a knockout! |
