Sony, along with the special effects team behind The Lord of the Rings and Walden Media (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) had a new epic release set in 1930s Scotland involving a boy, and egg and the Loch Ness Monster. For The Water Horse, WHi created a site of mythic proportions, a mysterious underwater world with a variety of portals related to the film (Story, Photos, Videos, Games, Life Stages). Since the creature was CGI, nothing could be produced exclusively for the site--WHi took existing footage, stripped out the backgrounds and reanimated the creature to make clips that appeared to be tailor made. We also created fun games for kids: Still and video puzzles, a memory match game and Crusoe Cruiser, a race against the clock while riding underwater on the back of the serpent.
